Travel Information (update!)

Tuesday, June 6 is the suggested arrival day, as the seminar will start on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. The seminar will end on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., with most participants departing on Friday, June 10, in the afternoon resp. on Saturday, June 11, in the morning.

The airport Linz provides connections mainly with Frankfur and Düsseldorf and some seasonal connections. It is also possible, and we recommend, to fly to Vienna and to continue by train to Linz (there are frequent direct trains, these connections are summarized in the following pdf-file).

Excellent railway connections exist with all major cities in Central, Western and Eastern Europe.

By taxi

You will find a taxi in front of the main entrance of the railway station. From the main hall, take the escalator one floor up. The costs are around 15 Euro.

By public transport

From the railway station, you may easily get by tram relatively close to the conference site. Trams leave every few minutes from below the main hall; be sure to take the direction "JKU | Universität". Take tram 1 or 2 and get off at "St. Magdalena". The trip takes 20 minutes.

From the St. Magdalena tram stop, you may continue by bus 101 to "Schatzweg". The bus leaves on weekdays every 30 minutes during daytimes (for the exact times have a look at the link). After getting off, walk along the street a little bit further and then turn right into Schatzweg; after a while, the conference site will be on your right.

The costs for a single ticket, called "Midi", are 2,60 Euro. A 24-hours ticket for Linz, called "Maxi", costs 5,20 Euro. A 7-days ticket, called "Wochenticket", costs 16,50 Euro. Tickets are valid in all LinzAG buses and trams within Linz (except tram 50, the "Pöstlingbergbahn").

If you have to wait too long for the bus 101: the conference site is not very far from the tram stop. However, it is a steep walk.
